Hard Work + Busy Days = Productive

First day of the week, I am expecting that we have a lot things to do. We need to finish the task that was given by Ms. Cel and also we need to finish and submit within day the audio transcribing task given by Ms. Ven. While doing my daily task, Ms. Ven asked me to call all the applicants and schedule them for an interview. She also helped me to call the other applicants and asked me to add them in the calendar. My multitasking skills was tested. I have to do my task simultaneously so that I will be able to finish them by the end of the day. We are expecting applicants the following day. I didn’t help my co-ojts assisting the applicants because I have to call all the applicants a day before their schedule to confirm if they are coming for an interview.

And yes we did it. We submit all the given task before the deadline. For me, I used to finish my work within the day so that I will be able to start a new things tomorrow.

Being Trusted

For me, trust matters in every workplace. It is very important in every workplace. It takes a long time and much effort to develop, but only one event to diminish it or eliminate it completely. This time, I feel that they are trusting us when it comes to work. Ms. Cel will be having a vacation leave this week so she left us things to do while she is on leave. We have new ojt in the office. We are assigned especially Shayne but I am willing to teach him our daily task. The following day I started to do my task given by Ms. Cel. All is well, we’re doing our task individually. Even if we have many things to do, we do our best to finish our everyday task. I’ve noticed myself that I am more motivated in doing our task. We always collaborate on every task to make sure that we are doing the right thing. I felt happy inside because I know someone is trusting me somehow.

The Power of Positive Thinking

And yes, we are facing another week. Time flies so fast. It makes me feel sad because we are leaving the office for only couple of weeks. We are busy doing our daily task, some admin works like assisting applicants etc. I was so worried this week because I have many thing to do. I have to finish my Callrail Notes for two clients for me to start with the Callrail Documentation. This week is the deadline of our task but until now I have not started yet. Also we have the problem of the previous month report, we didn’t understand it. Sine we have no idea, because this was our first time doing the report, Shayne and I analyze every single details in previous documentation to be easier for us to do the report. We already sent our report to Ms. Ven, and we are all nervous for our report. Thank God we did it. We did our job well done.

It feels good because every task that has given to you, you do it well. You have to do your job well enough so that other people will trust you.

New Year, New Beginning, New Challenges!

First day of work for 2018, new year, new challenges. Feeling grateful that we are still here learning new things, making ourselves being useful in this company. As entering a new quarter as an OJT, I am looking forward for more wonderful experience that I can use in the real world. Something that can help me to become a good employee in the future. I am so thankful to our OJT Supervisor, Ms. Cel Neyra for being more patient towards us. I know that sometimes we didn’t give our 100% in doing our task but she still teaches us on what are we going to do to make our job well done.

This time Ms. Cel gave us an assignment, What is our career goal we want to achieve and what are the silly goals that we want to do? First thing that came to my mind was, to be able to become successful, you have to do your best and be more focus on what your goal is. And love what you are doing.

New Year Celebration

After celebrating Christmas Day, as usual we are busy again for the preparation of New Year. A New Year means more opportunities. More opportunities to start over and for fill new promises.

Before the New Year’s Eve, are were busy cooking for Media Noche. We cooked pasta, maja blaca and some sweet food and delicacies. We bought 12 circular fruits as a tradition in New Year. We decided to eat early and we went to my uncle’s house. Everyone were so happy. Then my sister ask us to drink liquor. For me it’s okay since we drink liquor occasionally. When we got slightly tipsy, we started to dance to the music, sing a song and dance and sing and dance, just a happy moment because we appreciate each other. We enjoyed the mini party. Everyone is having a good time waiting for the countdown to reach zero. At exactly 12 o’ clock sharp, the sky fills up with bright lights and the sounds of cheering spectators. The elderly encourage us to jump at the stroke of midnight so that we would grow up tall. We also open all the doors and windows and lights are on at the stroke of midnight to let in the good luck. It is common for many Filipinos to blend religion and superstition in celebrating New Year’s Day. We conducted parlor games with cash prizes for those who win the games. Every new year my auntie throw coins for good luck then we pick the coins up. We danced in the middle of the street until we were got tired. It is a day which expresses joy and happiness all around.

Christmas Vacation

This is my most memorable Christmas so far. This week was super busy buying gifts to my Monita and especially to my godchildren. I am so excited knowing that my family will gather for this special occasion. We are so busy preparing for what we’re gonna cook for Christmas.

And finally it’s Christmas Eve. Family is everything when it comes to Christmas. As usual everyone is busy cooking their favorite food. I cooked Dynamite, since it is so spicy,I have my own version. Instead of chili I chose bell pepper as an alternative together with ham and cheese. We have a lot of kids and of course they don’t eat spicy food. It’s exchanging gift time. I’m so excited because I have no idea of who pick my name. Before you receive your gift, we have a twist, you have to dance first the trending dance craze in the Philippine “Taga San Ka” that make us so happy. We have no choice but to dance to get our gift hahaha. After that we played BINGO just for fun. Every card was cost 5.00 so I bought 2 cards. The first round, the prize was Electric Kettle. Everyone were focusing on their cards finding the numbers that have been called. I lost in the first round. For the second round, the prize was Rice Cooker. Again we were focused on our cards. Finally I won and I got the rice cooker. The third game, I lost again hahaha. After the games, we ate together and we are still laughing.

We are still busy for Christmas day. So excited to share blessing to the children. We celebrated our Christmas at Auntie’s House. We sung a lot of songs while drinking liquor. I’m so happy that my family is complete.

During my 7th week

As I continue exploring the aspects of Optimizex Inc., I find my self becoming more ardent as I staying here. Another lesson I have learned during this past few weeks. And ready to learn new things.

As usual, doing Social Media task by sir Evian is our morning routine. This is kinda exciting even though we are pretending other people. This time, we know already how to manage our time in doing our task. Same task every day but now we do the call rail. During our first day, Ms. Cel introduced us Joshua who will going orient us regarding call rail, these are the recorded calls from various clients. We comprehensively listen to clients’ customer calls and take note to what they have been talking about. It will test your listening skills here. We must be very detailed for the notes in each calls. At first, I find it so hard to understand because of their language. Since I don’t understand some of them, what I’m going to do is to listen to it over and over for me to understand their message or I will search it in google so I have the exact information. It takes time listening call rail. Now I’m looking forward doing call rail documentation.

What else can I say? This experience has only gotten me more excited to continue in this field for my career. Not everyone will have a great experience, but being an intern is one of the best things I’ve ever done!

During my 6th week

1 (1)

The time flies so fast. I didn’t notice that we are here for almost a month and a half. We survived in our schedule of our daily task. I even manage both my school activities and my internship. About the task, for doing it in every single day, I come up to think of strategy on how will I finish the task at the given time. There was a time that we have multiple task and I don’t know what or when or where do I start. I came to the point that I have to write down my daily task for me to do it completely without missing any of them. I find it very challenging because we need to do it right and pass it before the deadline so we have time to revise it whenever we made a mistake. It’s also fun doing this because we didn’t noticed that Christmas is coming because of our busy days. I have different task given by Ms. Cel which is to call Universities or Colleges near in the office to know if they are posting job vacancies inside the school premises or they post it through their school website. Those schools, we search it a couple of weeks ago, get their contact number and school website. We search also how far it is from the office. So now we are calling them. I missed chatting with other people as what I did before when I was still working so I enjoyed talking to the school personnel telling them the main reason of my call, to post job vacancies for their graduates. Some of them are happy to hear from us that we are giving them job opportunities to their student. Some of them don’t have that kind of services. After that, I put notes on each school based on what we have discussed. Another day had passed and another task was given by Ms. Ven, posting of blog in various clients. We do blog posting for how many times so we should know how to do it perfectly, knowing Ms. Ven she wants us to do it very well. Unfortunate there was a time that we made a mistake. We made her so mad at us. I think she advised Ms. Cel to talk to us and asked us what happened. We tell her the whole story. Then this is it! The day after, Ms. Ven was in the office. I feel so nervous that time because I know to myself that she is going to talked to us. Then yes, she wanted to hear from us the whole story. She gave us a couple of advises that we need in our everyday life not only in this room but even outside. We are very thankful because despite of what have we done, she still accepted us. We made a mistake but we learned new things. Sometimes full of flaws but this part of a new learning. After that, all the task that was given to us, we make sure that we did it effective and efficient.
